五家荘の祕境にあるお宿、山女魚荘という名前だけあって、夕食の山女魚料理は刺身や塩焼きは勿論、色々メニューがあり、他にも蜂の子や山菜の天ぷらなど，美味しくて大満足でした。帰りに山女魚の養殖場をみたら大小の山女魚が沢山泳いでいてビックリ！　登山で利用されてもらいましたが、九州脊樑にまた來る時は利用させていただきたいと思います。ご主人夫妻も大変感じが良く親切でした。ありがとうございました！

We had a wonderful stay. Incredible mountain food, delicious and unusual. Warm welcome and exceptional service and friendliness. The couple who run it talked to us about fishing and wildlife. A special part of our 訂房網站. Thank you so much. It’s a long way up in the mountains but beautiful scenery and well worth the effort.

My brother and me had a terrific stay in the beautiful setting. The drive up the mountain on a tiny road is well worth it. The hostess is so friendly and wonderful, and was so hospitable.  She explained the food dishes that were served using Google translate. The food was amazing, so varied and included local specialties: Trout, fried moth larvae, black moss that grows on rocks ( local delicatessen), wild hog soup, deer sashimi, etc. We experienced the finest Japanese food and hospitality. Traditional bedroom with tatami mats and access to the unsen were added amenities. Thank you for the memorable experience! Laurent
