After a week of feeling completely relaxed and refreshed at Corsendonk Hooge Heyde, I decided to try another hotel in the same area, just for a change of scene. (A small note for anyone considering Corsendonk Hooge Heyde—if you book through a third party, access to their spa and wellness center is not be included) Unfortunately, the change wasn’t quite what I had hoped for. The new hotel is located in a very busy area, and the streets felt crowded in a way that made me slightly uneasy. There were quite a few suspicious-looking people lingering around, and I didn’t feel comfortable going out alone at night. The hotel also claimed to have a gym, but during my stay, I simply couldn’t find it. That was disappointing, especially since fitness facilities are something I actively look for. Another inconvenience was the lack of on-site parking. There’s no hotel car park, so you have to leave your car at the neighboring shopping mall, Indigo, which costs €12 per night. It’s manageable, but after the calm and comfort of the previous week, the contrast was noticeable.
