Go stay in town. You will definitely have a better stay in Angra. Their "finest suite" (as the manager stated more than once) had not been properly cleaned in a long while. There was considerable odor from the mold on the walls in the Master bedroom - black, red, and while mold. There was a 5cm dead cockroach, hundreds of dead gnats, and paint chips on the floor and baseboards. There is no beach at this location. There is no gym at this location. The employees use the very small parking facility, and park closest to the door. I had to sweep the bird droppings off the patio myself. The dining employees are nice, but one time we were told we had to pay cash, couldn't charge to the room, and of course the "credit card machine is broken." Our TAP Flight was rescheduled to the following day due to a plane running off the runway in Lisbon. We could not use our pre-paid first night at the hotel, and The Hotel would not issue a refund on the first night . We lost $263 because the hotel said that they could not refund our card because TRIP.com used a virtual credit card to pay for the room. I do not recommend this hotel or booking through TRIP.com, and we will never use either of them again.
