寧平家庭民宿 (Ninh Bình Family Homestay)

Excellent emplacement, des bungalow propres, un cadre verdoyant et des hôtes très agréables.

The room I stayed in was good, clean and equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The location is excellent, being close to Bai Dinh Temple and the Trang An river tour, which made exploring very convenient. The property itself is wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by nature and perfect for relaxing away from busy areas. The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout, always happy to help. There was also a very cute dog on-site, which added a lovely, homely touch. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay that I would recommend.

We expected a spartan room, but "simple" should not mean "broken" or "dirty." This was the worst accommodation we experienced in Vietnam. • Bathroom & Hygiene: The bathroom was old, rusty, and moldy. The shower head holder was broken, so I had to hold it manually while washing. The mixer was stiff, making it impossible to regulate the water (either scalding or lukewarm). Worst of all, the towels were thin, worn-out, and one had disgusting brownish-yellow stains. • The Room & Privacy: The curtains were useless. They weren't sheer enough for privacy during the day (you have to keep them closed with the lights on to not be seen), yet they failed to block any sun in the morning. • Winter Comfort: There is no heating, which we knew from the description, but we can confirm that in the February climate, the brick bungalow was damp and far from comfortable. • Breakfast: Day 1 was a greasy, rubbery banana pancake and a single banana (the only thing we could eat) with poor-quality flavored coffee/tea. Day 2 was at least edible, consisting of two fried eggs. • Service: Everywhere else in Vietnam we felt welcomed, but here the effort to be hospitable was minimal. We only stayed because we were short on time in Ninh Binh and didn't want to waste a day moving, but we will remember this as the worst place in the village. Avoid.
