I was delighted to find such a charming hot spring inn in the Takayama region. The entire hotel appears to have been renovated; while not very large, the rooms are very spacious, and the lobby and other areas are tastefully decorated. The biggest surprise was the complimentary lounge where guests could enjoy snacks and relax. The staff were also very attentive and polite. The only downside was the toilet paper; its quality was extremely disappointing. I understand that for environmental reasons, single-ply and thinner paper is necessary, but it always crumbled and scattered all over the floor, which wasn't a pleasant experience.
