This was THE WORST budget hotel experiences I’ve had in Singapore. I booked a 3-week stay for study, but was placed in a room with a strong chemical/pesticide smell and extremely thin walls, which made it very uncomfortable to stay in for an extended period. The room conditions alone were already unacceptable. The situation became more frustrating due to how it was handled by the front desk, particularly a receptionist named Hema. When my friend joined me, she was required to move rooms multiple times within just a few days, which showed a clear lack of coordination and proper management. There were also several incidents that raised concerns about privacy and professionalism. I was questioned about being awake at 2–3am, which felt inappropriate and unnecessary. Staff also requested my family’s contact details even though they are not based in Singapore, which felt intrusive. When I raised concerns, the responses I received did not help resolve the situation. At one point, we were even asked to apologize for “hurting feelings,” which felt unprofessional given that we were raising legitimate issues about our stay. By the final week, the environment had become so uncomfortable that it genuinely felt stressful to remain there. To be fair, the location is convenient and the pool area is nice. However, these positives do not make up for the overall experience. The combination of poor room conditions, lack of privacy, and how situations were handled made this a stay I would not recommend. Management should seriously review their service standards, especially in terms of guest privacy, communication, and how issues are handled at the front desk.
