A comfortable stay that was reasonable value, but not without problems. The location is good for the nearby exhibition center, but a circa 1.5km walk to Line 2 metro (an exhibition was being set-up so security directed us to Exit 9). Walking to the Hongqiao airport or train station requires climbing a wall of steps so best to get a taxi. The complex where the apartment is located has many restaurants, small supermarkets, and coffee shops.
The apartment is a regular 'loft' style in China with 2 bedrooms upstairs. The bedlinen and towels were fresh & clean, but the rooms were not. There was food marks & stains on the wall by the bin & fridge. Plenty of marks, scuffs and some hand prints on the walls. Quite a bit of cracked or peeling paint and dirt/dust in and around the furniture. The toilet (which is downstairs) leaked water on to the floor. Walls & ceiling around the shower were not very clean. Rug by the sofa was stained & dirty. Sound insulation is poor with noise from neighboring apartments. Air conditioning worked well. Kitchen has no limited cooking facilities with only a microwave. In the double bedroom cupboard there were stained pillows and other things that really need throwing away.
All in all the beds were comfy and we slept well and it was a base for our travel from Hongqiao, but we will look elsewhere when back in Shanghai.
