things to improve: 1 . Empty conditioner bottle. 2. broken bidet in toilet 3. being hassled by cleaning staff prior to checkout. 4. wifi conection could be more reliable throughout the property. 5. light and fan switches in the rooms are not labelled and not intuitive. things done well: 1. convenient and easy transfer and check in / check out. 2. friendly easy going customer centric staff 3. High quality food options 4. beautiful setting - beach, pools, grounds, rooms, facilities. Overall-very satisfied

Samal Island is just a few minutes boat ride from Davao City. Discovery has its own charter speed boat to the property. Upon arrival we were escorted to the main lobby. Main lobby u will see the beach front ( white sand but not that fine). There is also the restaurant Haribsr and Morning Catch. We were then escoorted to our bedroom using golf carts . The bedroom is has the view pf the olympic size pool which has a view of Davao CITY. The property also has a floating chapel, convention center, villas with designated pool. Bedroom is big, with own terrace. Overall the resort is very nice. Only a year from opening, the staffs are very nice accommodating and well trained. Special mention to one if the staffs who took care of is is Sir Ching. He went the extra mile to find us a room with king size bed facing the pool. Thank you!

Hands down to Discovery Samal hospitality. I’ve been to many countries and resort hotel but only Discovery Samal exceeds my expectations. Each and every staff will welcome you with warm smiles and serve you their best efforts. Thank you so much to all the staff of Discovery Samal. Food was delicious especially the buffet and their steak 5 star for that. Beach is pretty cool too with bluish green water, we saw school of fish jumping too. One night stay is not enough as the whole resort is so huge. So we will coming back again soon. And the best part for me is the happy hour I enjoyed my blue margaritas and I love the live band at Hari bar.

The property is impressive and huge but there are golf carts to take you everywhere you want to go. The rooms and property were clean. Some staff at the Reception and the Shoreline need further training on customer service though but kudos to Jepoy at the Shoreline and Edward at the Morning Catch for taking excellent care of customers! The spa staff and services were great too!

Discovery Samal Resort exceeded our expectations in every aspect. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The resort's stunning location, nestled amidst lush greenery and overlooking crystal-clear waters, provided the perfect backdrop for a truly relaxing getaway. The accommodations were spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, ensuring our comfort throughout our stay. We particularly enjoyed the variety of activities offered, from snorkeling and kayaking to indulging in rejuvenating spa treatments. The dining options were equally impressive, with a diverse selection of delicious dishes that catered to every palate. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable experience, always attentive to our needs and eager to assist with any requests. Overall, Discovery Samal Resort is a hidden gem that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a tranquil retreat in paradise. Four stars well deserved!
