good affordable place in balia panda puri, rooftop cafe was also good, clean hotel and good location near sea beach

Our stay at Sonar Bangla, Puri fulfilled all our expectations. The staff were very helpful, polite, and efficient. The food was cooked to perfection. The property's location on Marine Drive, Puri ensures an awesome view of the blue waters stretching to the horizon. And there is no crowding on the beach in front. The beach too was very clean, no litter!

Very nice location on the beach but sea facing rooms are smaller in size and the toilet is small too which is a con.

Excellent stay. Fantastic loction. Rooms with an ocean view are simply irresistible. The food and rooftop cafeteria serves delicious food.

Hotel Sonar Bangla – Disappointing Experience The hotel is in a great location with a nice sea view — that’s the only positive. , but the experience was far below expectations. The bathroom was in terrible condition — no exhaust fan, just a small vent opening into a foul-smelling lobby. At this price, having to use such a poor-quality bathroom is unacceptable. Honestly, the room felt like it should cost ₹1,000, not more. During lunch, I found a hair in my food. I showed it to the staff. At first, he tried to deny it, then agreed and offered to re-serve the meal — which I refused. I didn’t want anything free, just expected better hygiene and a more professional response. His behavior was cheap and disappointing. Overall: I would never recommend this hotel at ₹6,000–₹8,000. At best, the room is worth ₹2,500. If someone is okay paying ₹6,000 for a stay with a small, horrible bathroom, that’s their choice — I certainly won’t be back.

The hotel reception was unprofessional, not willing to listen or help in anything. I felt they were doing favour, while I booked and paid for the services.

Excellent location with lovely sea view. The rooms are very comfortable and well done up. Service and restaurant is very good. The breakfast is very very average. That was disappointing since we have stayed in their Joypur forest resort and it is top class in every way.

Great stay at the hotel. Very good location, just right opposite to the sea beach. The rooms are nice, clean. Roof top restaurant has very good view and food is also excellent. Overall very good stay.

room sizes are different for similar categories of rooms. we had a previous experience of staying in a 4 bedded room of huge size, but this time we were allotted a small room. food quality was not good. very little options for complementary breakfast. no option for egg pouch or egg fry or sunny side up in breakfast, which is very uncommon in a hotel like this category
