This is an unusal hotel. It has a good free car park, a nice reception and public area, along with a good brèakfast room. The staff were very friendly and helpful but I have never been to a hotel with so few staff. The rbedoom was very dark and needed to be redecorated. Tnere is no AC. Breakfast was comical. Hot food was constantly running out. A hard working meber of staff was trying in vain to restock. The coffe machine was za joke. It took me 10 minutes to get 2 Americanos. Its definitely not up to IHG standards. I ave been to many IHG hotels in the UK and Europe. It felt like the Marie Celeste.

Weekend prices without staffing or weekly services. The hotel is quite isolated, which is fine.  However, when there is no food service at your hotel - “we don’t do food at weekends” - it does leave you without options. What is more annoying is the fact that the hotel charges more - for rooms - at the weekend and provides less service.  The one member of staff who managed the front desk, the bar and any other customer need, was great, but the hotel was hugely understaffed. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone especially at the weekend.

Great hotel. Everyone was very welcoming, even the room cleaning staff that did a great job on our room. I'll definitely stay and recommend this place again.

I can and do recommend this hotel. I stayed at the hotel for 17 nights. My room was on the ground floor and was very comfortable, there is not one thing that I can complain about. I got to know the staff, who were absolutely magnificent. They could have done nothing more to make me feel very welcome and at home. From the reception, bar, dining room, kitchen and housekeeping staff, they made me feel like I came home every evening when I got back to the hotel. They went out of their way for me. Thank you to Varun, Aniken, Jake, Vix and the rest of the staff. I can’t recommend Garner Samlesbury Hotel enough!!!

Friendly reception, very clean, superb breakfast, great hotel, our only criticism was the room lighting was very poor. The bulbs must have been ultra low wattage.
