I stayed at Hotel Ariston Prague and, despite a friendly welcome from Erin at reception, the overall experience was far below expectations. The price paid does not match the quality received. The hotel has a convenient location, close to the main train station and a tram stop, and the lobby offers water, coffee, and cake during the day, which was a nice touch. But that’s where the positives end.
When we arrived at our room (305), the hallway had a strong smell of tobacco, the carpet was extremely dirty and stained, and there was an abandoned housekeeping cart, a water bottle, and towels left on the floor. Above the room door, there was a visible hole in the wall, likely from past water damage. Inside the room, things got worse: stained walls, dusty baseboards and doors, a broken fan (no air conditioning in standard rooms), loud street noise even with windows closed, hair on the floor, wall cracks, and a TV with only a few channels—most of them without picture, which seems to be a known issue throughout the hotel.
We asked at reception to change rooms, but the staff said the hotel was fully booked. Still, they offered an upgrade for an extra €10 per night, which didn’t make sense. They promised to leave a note for the next shift. The following morning, after a reasonable breakfast served in a former theater room, we spoke to Vanessa at reception (she had no name tag—we had to ask). She looked tired, disengaged, and had no information about our request. Only after we insisted did she agree to contact the manager.
Later that day, they finally moved us to room 205, located in the hotel’s second building across the street, which doesn’t have a nearby pedestrian crossing. This new room was quieter, slightly cleaner, and included a few amenities missing from the first. However, the TV still didn’t work, there was still no AC (only a fan, though better than the last one), the shower doors wouldn’t close properly due to missing wheels, and the bathroom door was damaged, likely from moisture.
Except for Erin, the staff were not welcoming or helpful. This is not a 4-star hotel—it’s closer to a 2 or 3-star property. I’ve paid less for a better stay at an Ibis. Based on other reviews, maybe we were just unlucky, but the room conditions and poor service made the experience unacceptable.
To be fair, on the day of check-out, the receptionist was polite and kind enough to offer us a one-hour late check-out, which we appreciated. Still, I won’t return or recommend this hotel. I genuinely feel ripped off.

프라하중앙역에서 올때 갈때 이용하므로 도보로 갈수 있는 곳을 찾았어요~ 혼자 여행자라 가격도 비싸지 않는 곳을 찾다가 여기 픽했는데 결론은 만족합니다~ 아리스턴&이유를 체크인때 알았는데 저는 건너편P건물로 배정받았고 뭔가 한국에서 없는 유럽식 건물느낌 들어서 좋았어요ㅎ 발코니같은 문으로 들어가서 큰방도 좋았고 침구도 살균한듯 깨끗했고~ 화장실은 분리되어 있고 욕실 분리도 좋았는데 욕조까지!!!! 굿!!!! 아쉬운점은 형광등이 아닌 조명이라는 것과 에어컨이 없고 선풍기는 있어요~ 근데 저는 더위 안타서 선풍기로 충분 했지만 38도 이런 더위에는 힘들 수도 있다고 생각했어요~ 조식은 스크램블 파운드케이크 토마토 소세지!!!! 등등 이질감 없이 너무 맛있음❤️직원분들도 다 친절하게 응대해주시고 최고의 서비스였습니다 밤11시넘어서 시내갔다가 와도 길거리 안전했구요~ 근처 큰마트도 있어요 즐겁게 푹 쉬다 갑니다 감사해요~ 단점은 콘센트가 불편했어요ㅠㅠ개선할 부분이라 생각합니다
Mensen boek dit hotel niet , ze hebben 2 gebouwen en alles je een kamer boekt krijg je een kamer aan de overkant van de straat in hun patio en dat zijn zeker geen 4 sterren kamers , de kamers van de patio staan niet eens op de site , ook niet op de foto’s en is nergens aangegeven en het personnel bij de resectie is ook heel onvriendelijk en zeker niet behulpzaam. De kamers hebben geen airco en zijn erg oncomfortabel , slechte bed en matrassen zeker het geld niet waard . Ben gewoon opgelicht .

Pillows too soft but they don’t have extra ones available. Towers and bed shut not changed for the whole stay (3 nights)

Room was clean, not much lit. Missing free outlet, or outlet near bed. Only free outlets were one in the enterance room and one in the bathroom.
There was a gap under the front door with light from the yard under the door.
Internet wi-fi was not fast (down 12 / up 11 Mbit) but stable. TV was showing only 10 german, 2 czech and 1 russian channel.
No instant coffee bags, but there was electric cattle, free tee bags (2 fruit, 2 black) and sugar bags.
Water taps in the sink and shower are separated, and it takes some time to set required temperature.
Not sure if the ladder radiator in the bathroom was working properly when turned on to maximum.
Tiles in the entrence and bathroom were cold.
Breakfast was delicios and with wide choice.
Na to, že sme mali rezervovanu izbu superior bola príliš mala a stiesnena a nepredával tomu ani úplne zbytočný stĺp v izbe.. Vyhlad nikam ..

그러나 30도 더운 날씨에 조식을 먹는 식당은
너무 더웠다.
아침 식사할때는 에어컨 작동을 해 주었으면 한다
