Arrived Friday at motel after 12 hour drive for a working weekend, got into long line waiting to be checked in. Noticed a few tear streaked and unhappy faces, now I know why. Front desk guy went through the line quickly and checked me in quickly and gave me the key and wifi password, and told me I'm on the 4th floor. Thought I was in good hands. Carried my bags up to the fourth floor and the key card doesn't work on the my door. Came back down with my bags and waited till I got Front Desk's attention and then he apologized and said here try this one. Carried my bags up to the fourth floor and the 2nd key card doesn't work. Carried my bags up to the fourth floor and the 3rd key card doesn't work on the door. Came back down with my bags and waited till I got his attention and said this is getting ridiculous. I told him if it doesn't work a 4th time he needs to send someone up with me, or get me a another room. He said no, he would refund my money if it didn't work and I could just find somewhere else to stay. I said that was incredibly unfair and unprofessional, I have to work in the morning and were I'm I going find something close and affordable. He said "the bosses don't care, and this is my last night and I don't care". I said I'm getting my room one way or another, and I'm not putting up with this, he just smiled apologetically and handed me the card. I took the 4th keycard and went up to the 4th floor with my bags and the keycard didn't work. Frustrated now, I gave the handle a shake and then a house cleaner appeared to bark at me "don't shake it!". I told him 4 cards hadn't worked, I told him to show me the if lock even works, so he opened the door with his card and then said "SEE!" and then walked off muttering something, since my card still doesn't work that wasn't a solution. I asked him to come back but he yelled over his shoulder "not my problem!". So I followed him down the stairs and caught up with him at the front desk. I told the front desk guy can we talk and figure this out with the cleaning guy since his card works? The cleaning guy turned around to glare at me, and I said may I see your card for a second? He reluctantly handed it to me and I said, "it's my card now, if you can't provide me a working card then I will use the room cleaner's card". The cleaning guy threw his hands up, turned around and walked off leaving me with the house cleaner's access card. I turned to the front desk guy, he just shrugged and said" I don't care, it's my last night". No toilet paper in my room, went to in room phone to call the front desk, telephone was not connected to the phone line, because there was no phone line. Bathtub stopper was a melted fishing bob or something equally useless No hot water at 8am on a Sunday, had to take cold shower before work. Wifi did not work, connect and fail and repeat over and over. Wall plugs only half energized, two plugs to a face and only one works. Did not feel safe leaving anything in my room when I was out for work, afraid my key card would be cancelled while I was out, so I took everything out with me everyday.
