We couldn't check into our rented beach front condo until the day following our flight in, so we stayed here 1 night. The motel didn't look great from the outside, but we didn't mind as it was only for 1 night to rest up. We weren't in the room 2 minutes when a gigantic cockroach ran out from under our bed! Thankfully, my husband saw it & smashed it. With the carpet being dark brown print, I honestly wouldn't have noticed it & we'd have probably ended up taking some unwanted hitchhikers to our condo in our luggage! UGH. We kept everything zipped up tightly & decided to grin & bear it for the night. We kept some lights on & the TV, hoping to deter anymore from coming to check on us! Hubby was on cockroach watch patrol & saw a few more, but we survived. We tried to have a good sense of humor about it, as to not start our vacation off on the wrong foot, so we watched "Joe's Apartment" & laughed about the lovely blue (?) stains on the blankets, cracks in the wall, etc....When we checked out the next morning, we took the smashed roach just for proof, as we don't enjoy complaining & didn't want any bad juju on our vacation. The office attendant didn't seem too concerned, but said he'd get the room sprayed. The female attendant that checked us in the night prior was very nice. Either way, we had inspected the bed sheets & such prior to going to bed & everything else was clean enough to deal with. Keep your luggage zipped up, shake everything out & you'll be fine! It was affordable & served the purpose.
