I was very disappointed with my stay at Kouros Suites. I booked six nights expecting the image of the hotel and overall experience shown in the photos at the time of booking, but what I found did not match those expectations. Considering the high price, this was particularly frustrating, and in my opinion the hotel does not meet a 5-star standard; it feels more like a good 3-star property, or at best a 4-star category. The property is also not as photogenic or as beautiful as it appears in the promotional images. My expectations based on the price and reviews were very high, but the experience was a complete disappointment. I have stayed in other, slightly more affordable hotels such as Croco and Porto Mykonos, and the overall experience there was significantly better. The location is about a 7–10 minute walk to the center, but it is not an easy walk, as it involves a steep uphill road that is poorly lit at night. The pool looks impressive at first glance, but in practice it is almost impossible to enjoy. The hotel is located on a hill and Mykonos is very windy, which makes it uncomfortable to relax, read a book, or even keep a towel in place, as it constantly flies away. Even the sunbeds are anchored, and there are no umbrellas, which further limits comfort. The service is average and not what you would expect from a 5-star hotel; the best aspect of the service was the cleaning. The breakfast was also poor for this category and price, with very limited and unappealing options, to the point that after the second day it was no longer enjoyable to go. The staff appeared disorganized, often talking among themselves without a clear overview of guests’ needs, and during my stay I was never proactively offered hot dishes and had to request everything myself. The room itself was the best part of the stay and the most faithful to the photos. However, one day when I returned, the air conditioning had leaked water, flooding the entrance area and even getting onto my luggage. Overall, I felt I had paid for an experience that was not worth the price. I also spoke with other guests who shared similar disappointment, especially in comparison to the expectations created by the photos.
