藝術城酒店 (Hotel Art City)

It's a really nice hotel, spacious room and wonderful position!

The Hotel Art City is a small hotel located about 2.5 Km from Miyako train station. It is directly opposite Miyako Port and about 25 minutes walk from Jodogahama. So it is a good location if you want to explore the port and Sanriku Fukko National Park. There is stunning scenery all around the coast not only at Jodogahama beach. However if you don't have a car, walking into town is about a 30 minute walk through some unlit roads. There is a Lawson convenience store right next to the hotel and a couple of nearby restaurants which close at 2 or 3pm. The room was reasonably large with a western style bed and a Japanese tatami seating area and a view overlooking the port. The bathroom was very small, but there was a public bath on the sixth floor. There wasn't always somebody at the front desk. I think there may have only been a couple of staff, they spoke very little English, but were very friendly and helpful. There was a letter addressed to me with instructions in English and we used a translation app to communicate for other things. Overall I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Art City. I liked being close to the port and the National Park and didn't miss being in the town. If you don't have a car, a taxi will cost about 1200 Yen from Miyako train station to Hotel Art City.
