新阿拉曼格萬白沙度假村 (Gewan White Beach Resort-New Alamein)

Good luxury hotel, about 2 hours away from main city Alexandria. Was quite empty when we visted (1st week of October). The room was very clean and comfy, beach was great and the staff are very pleasant. We didn't get to try the pools but they seemed good too. Selection for breakfast and dinner was good, if not exquisite. My only small remark is that at this price range, I have stayed in more luxurious hotels in Hurghada, with all-inclusive access and better reataurants. It's a small nitpick, but I had to say it, since most hotels at this price range are quite close in quality and only the small details differ. I do understand the closeness advantage for north coast hotels vs Hurghada so that must be factored into the price.

I expected more

The good: the hotel is decent honestly that’s about it. The bad: the location is not great right next to a sewer dump. It smells awful. There’s nothing to do in the hotel other than pool and beach. The beach is not clean and it’s rocky. All drinks is not included in our stay( include soft drinks and juice) which you would expect but the amount of money spend there. The food is not all that!!. There is no animation team at the hotel. You would expect all of that in a 5 star hotel. Some occasional party by the pool but it ends so fast and they don’t tell you that they are done and you are just waiting not sure if they are done or not. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. This hotel I would rate a 2.5 stars honest on a good day
