海峽套房酒店 (The Straits Hotel & Suites)

大堂很高端大氣，房間內飾布草裝修有些陳舊，地理位置不錯出行便利，樓下就有很多餐飲店，英雄廣場 荷蘭紅館 馬六甲河，雞場街景點都在可在不行之內

這個酒店是典型的旅行團酒店，先説優點，位置方便，步行到各個景點都不遠，酒店樓下7-11等等便利店和宵夜排擋，以及24小時洗衣房非常便利。下面説缺點，本人工作原因隨身帶尺子，普通房型標明1.3米的床，實際量衹有90公分寬，標註33平米的房間，套內不超過21平米。後來訂房網站協調給升級了套房，標明1.8米的床實測衹有1.5米，沙發塌陷，臥室牆外就是空調外機，噪音巨大，影響休息，設施老化非常嚴重，另外早餐竟然很多有味道變質的情況。感謝訂房網站協調升級房型，並承擔了相應的升級費用，但是酒店實在太拉胯了。

保安服務很好，非常盡責 前台效率低 冷氣及雪櫃唔夠凍 附近有食肆及便利店

位置可以的但酒店比較舊了，應該要裝修一下

房間還行，衞生還可以，停車轉電梯較麻煩，不推薦腳痛或長者訂住，就要走很遠的路

條件服務一般

We booked 1 x two king bed suite room for our family. Upon check in, was informed by the check in staff that we need to pay additional MYR10 per room per night if we are not local and applicable for booking through a third party agent like 訂房網站.com. 訂房網站 only indicated an additional total of MYR$6, but we had to pay MYR60 as the room is a connecting room, not 1 suite room for 3 nights. We were not informed of this extra fee and likewise the staff mentioned that many guests were also unhappy about it. So pls be aware that there is additional tax charges. When we step into the room. It felt like the room has been vacant for ages. Layers of dust on the floor and table, room has a musty smell. However, it was really quiet so we had a restful sleep. The room was dated and balcony has glass shattering. Not much guests staying as most rooms were empty. It was still functional if you don’t mind the above. The breakfast restaurant is at the newer Noble Hotel just beside, food was ok but cold. Location is quite a walking distance to jonker st. about 15mins. With kids in a tow, taking grab is a better option. Personally i feel there are better options.

Location is proximity to the two major malls (Dataran Palawan and Makota Parade). There’s also convenience store (7-11 and Family Mart l) beside the hotel. Many eateries and it’s also 3 mins walk to the famous Tong Sheng Chinese restaurant. Check-in was fast and staff were friendly. Complimentary wifi located on the sleeve of the keycard. Good security with guard on duty to lift lobby and key card to activate the desired floor in the lift. Corridor looks little dated and the wooden side skirting fell off at one section while I was walking to my room. Room is clean with lots of toiletries available (4 bottled water, 2 bedroom slippers, 2 toothbrush, vanity kit, shampoo & shower gel, conditioner, lotion, etc). There’s also a kitchenette but no utensils provided. Hotel is actually connected (walkway beside lift lobby) to Noble hotel (formally Novotel?) next door. TV is my room was not at its best condition (flickering) and limited channels (common Malaysian channels, S’pore channel 8, etc). The balcony door is locked for safety and security reason. Air-condition is split unit (non-central a/c) and temperature can be controlled. By the way, paid SGD36.62 excluding breakfast for a last minute deal, booked after 3pm on the check-in day. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay given the price paid.

The room is slightly bigger than expected. Sofa looks uncleaned to me with patches of stain. Location is ok, walkable distance to local mall. Service nothing to shout about. Overall still ok for the price. Drove to Jonkee Street is about 30mins due to the bad traffic and closure of roads.
