For some unknown reason, we were first assigned a room that smelled powerfully of scent and when that faded powerfully of tobacco smoke. This despite the hotel suggesting itself is non-smoking and us making a request to you scented products if at all possible. He brought this to the attention of the concierge which responded that it would be impossible to change the room that night because the hotel was fully booked. Airing the room out didn't help. The next day we went first thing to talk to the concierge on duty and were immediately assigned a new room. This reflected really badly on not only the hotel but whoever was involved in the night shift. This was really disappointing and quite unnecessarily so.
