Oh dear! The front - desk service here is truly abysmal. They didn't bother to inform us in advance about how to get to our pre - booked rooms. Moreover, they even tried to take away our room keys. The room facilities are extremely shabby. We had no quilts, just a dirty blanket. It's so noisy around here and the sound insulation is so poor that we can hardly get a good night's sleep. I booked two types of rooms, one standard queen - sized bed room and the other a twin - bed room. But instead of giving us the twin - bed room, the hotel put us in a six - person apartment. It's just a complete disaster! The worst part is the service of the front - desk manager. Because of this hotel, my impression of Mackay is really not good at all! If you're coming to Mackay, please don't stay here.

Everything about this place is five stars except location. It's just below the flight path and everytime a plane crosses, it'll wake you up. Other than that, it's a great place with free breakfast.

Great place to stay with friendly staff and clean rooms. The breakfast is free and you can take it to your room on arrival from the front desk. The restaurant at the bowls club is one of the best places to dine.
