維拉門奇酒店 (Residence Belambra City Villemanzy)

The rooms are huge at this hotel. The "basic" room is a studio with a loft. You can do a somersault in the bathroom. You can cartwheel in the studio. Space is definitely not an issue. However, when traveling with children, a few things need to be keenly aware. If you take public transportation (bus and metro), you will need to walk up a pretty steep hill. So for the physically challenged, this can be tricky. If you have young children who fall asleep, then you better have strong arms and legs to carry them back to the hotel. At night, you will have to walk through some seedy areas of Lyon....again not great with children. I didn't feel it was "unsafe" but the aesthetics is probably not suitable for children. The exterior of the building and hotel grounds is shown in the photo below. On the other hand, having so much space in the room with kids, and having a kitchen in the studio definitely helps if you want to relax and retire early for the day. I cannot really comment on the service of the hotel. We didn't have to ask for anything special. The rooms are clean, and everything we need was already in the room.

during my stay, elevator never fix, night time desk unfriendly, high hill location is worse.

The view from the hotel is magnificent, both day and night. You overlook much of Lyon. However, at night, walking back to this hotel from the nearest metro, you had to walk through what appeared to be seedy areas. We were traveling as a family with young children, which wasn't a great idea strolling through seedy areas at night. The rooms are very large. We had a studio with a loft, and that was the "basic" room. Once inside the room, we love it.
