WiFi and the TV were not working for our entire 2 days stay. This problem persisted not just our room but the entire block. Breakfast took an hour to prepare. We ordered at 7am and the food arrived at 805am. The only plus point is the beautiful view of the city and Mt Kinabalu.

I had a very disappointing experience on New Year’s Eve 2025. My overnight stay was so unpleasant that I ended up checking out at 1:00 a.m. despite checking in at 8:00 p.m. After enjoying the dinner buffet at the restaurant, I entered the room for the first time at 1:00 a.m., only to be greeted by a spider with many legs and a photo frame covered in spider webs on the wall. The spider was actively moving around, and we were worried it might come near us while we slept. I immediately reported this to the reception, hoping to switch to a better room. Unfortunately, they only offered to clean the room rather than provide a replacement or cancellation option, which was disappointing but understandable. The room’s overall condition was also subpar, with an uncomfortable smell that made the stay even worse. It was not the New Year’s experience I had hoped for.

We had a pleasant stay, thanks to the friendly and hospitable staff. Our room in the Main Resort was spacious with a large toilet and a balcony, but it could benefit from some minor refurbishments. We noticed loose flooring with sharp edges and an ageing sofa that required attention. The cold weather may have contributed to a slightly damp and mouldy atmosphere in the room. Unfortunately, we experienced itchiness after sleeping on the bed and sofa, suggesting the possible presence of bed bugs. Breakfast was simple yet sufficient. Overall, it’s a decent resort with great potential, provided they address these maintenance concerns. However, given the price we paid, we expected a higher standard, making it feel slightly overpriced.

The service provided was excellent, the rooms were dated and could be updated. The views were amazing, though driving up by yourself is quite daunting, especially when driving in the dark as there isn’t any lighting along the road. Definitely worth a stay at Kokol Haven Resort.

Blessed with good weather. Hike abit to mama hill to get best sunset & mount k view. Room is fair, felt humid upon check in, probably after clean up as bathroom still wet, but better after on aircon. Breakfast is simple.
