The hotel was in a quiet location about 1 mile from the centre of Inverurie. The overall impression was that the hotel was passed its sell by date. It had worn out downtrodden facilities. Carpets, curtains and decor were in need of modernization/replacement. The cleanliness of facilities eg windows/carpets and lack of maintenance of hotel surrounds added to the run down perception. There was a problem with the provision of hot water on my stay. Having reported that there was no hot water in my room, the issue remained unresolved by the end of my 4 night stay. The rating of 2 for service was not because the staff were unfriendly, but more because the level of the general service offer was poor value.
