箱根水療旅館 (Hakonae Spa Pension)

店家相敬如賓，房間整潔。設施齊全。門口還有貓咪可以擼。酒店門口有公交車站，非常安靜。水療浴缸可以去除旅行疲憊，建議自帶一些肉類，門口可以烤肉。入口處也有小店。到海邊直達3分鐘。海釣好去處。非常好的一次旅行體驗。

Book this place only if you want to ruin your vacation, because that’s exactly what happened to us. We chose this place because of its close location to the sea and the rooftop BBQ area. However, the owner refused to let us use the rooftop BBQ, claiming it was because of strong wind, even though the weather conditions were completely fine. What felt even stranger was that he didn’t offer us the BBQ area on the first floor either, he simply refused. At that moment, we were the only guests staying there. Later, another family arrived and decided to use the rooftop BBQ area, and suddenly the owner told us that now we could use it too. This situation honestly felt very uncomfortable. Was it simply laziness from the owner, or discrimination toward foreigners? Either way, it completely ruined not only our experience at this accommodation, but also our impression of the place overall. I’d also like to mention that the BBQ usage fee was 20,000 won, which was never mentioned anywhere on the website or in the booking information. Of course, we were not given any receipt either. This leaves an open question, was this fee even legitimate, or were we simply overcharged? As for the cleanliness and service, the room smelled strongly of food, and the refrigerator smelled terrible as well. Does anyone actually clean this place? Guests are expected to sort and throw away their trash, wash the dishes, and wipe everything down themselves before leaving. In conclusion, I do not recommend visiting this place if you don’t want your vacation experience ruined. I am also attaching evidence showing that there was wind present when we were finally allowed to use the BBQ area later in the evening, meaning there was absolutely not a complete calm at that time. Meanwhile, during the daytime, when we were refused access, the weather was actually completely calm with no strong wind at all.
