My recent experience at Saphire Hotel Colombo left much to be desired, and unfortunately, I cannot recommend this establishment based on my stay. First and foremost, the overall cleanliness of the hotel was subpar. The lobby and common areas appeared worn and in need of a thorough renovation. Stains on the carpets, outdated furniture, and a general lack of upkeep created an unappealing first impression. The room I was assigned did not meet even the most basic standards. The furnishings were outdated, and the entire space exuded a stale odor. The bed linens and towels seemed worn and past their prime, lacking the crispness and cleanliness one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. The bathroom, in particular, was a letdown, with signs of mold and mildew in the corners and an overall lack of attention to hygiene. The amenities promised by Saphire Hotel Colombo were far from impressive. The Wi-Fi connection was unreliable at best, making it challenging to carry out any work or leisure activities that require a stable internet connection. The gym facilities were outdated and poorly maintained, with malfunctioning equipment that posed a safety risk. The dining experience at the hotel did little to redeem the overall impression. The breakfast buffet lacked variety, and the quality of the food was mediocre at best. The restaurant staff appeared disinterested and provided lackluster service, further contributing to the disappointing atmosphere. Customer service was another major drawback during my stay. The staff displayed a lack of professionalism, with slow response times to inquiries and seemingly indifferent attitudes. Requests for assistance were met with a lack of urgency, leaving me with a sense of frustration and dissatisfaction. In conclusion, my experience at Saphire Hotel Colombo fell far short of expectations. The lack of attention to cleanliness, outdated facilities, subpar amenities, and indifferent customer service collectively make it an unappealing choice for travelers seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I would strongly advise exploring alternative accommodations in Colombo to ensure a more pleasant and satisfying experience.
