The Mill Hotel & Spa is in an ideal location, just 5 minutes walk from Chester train station and the centre of Chester itself. So, what is a stay in this hotel like? I stayed in the Business Class Double room with a view of the canal. The room is a fair size, with the king size bed being very comfortable and clean. A big drawback for the room, however, is the lack of air conditioning facilities available. I stayed at the end of July, and whilst the outside wasn’t hot, the room itself was stuffy and opening the window didn’t really help too much. I can’t imagine what it would be like staying here in during a heatwave, which is becoming more common! The room also comes with decent tea and coffee making facilities, along with a desk for working. The bathroom is a good size, but it could do with a bit of cleaning. There are two shower nozzles - the smaller standard nozzle was fine but the rainfall shower nozzle was extremely dirty. It looks like it hasn’t been used in a while - and I’d recommend not using that particular shower if you stay here. The extractor fan vent is also very dusty and obviously hasn’t been cleaned in a while! Over to the spa facilities - they are nothing short of exceptional. This is the real draw when staying here, with the swimming pool and sauna being to an excellent standard. Use of the swimming pool and gym is free to all guests whilst staying here, so make good use of the facilities! I opted for the inclusion of breakfast during my stay, and I’d say it was ok rather than great. The amount of food available isn’t huge, though the likes of the croissants and cooked breakfast are to a good standard. As the hotel is in need of an update - it firmly feels like it’s stuck in the mid noughties - the hotel does excel in the standard of service provided to its customers. Whether that be from the cleaners, the reception staff or the waiting staff, everyone is smiling and friendly. It makes all the difference! Would I stay here again? Yes, I would. I hope they do update the rooms soon enough - they really do need air conditioning! And I also hope the bathrooms were thoroughly cleaned a little more. But everything else was to a good standard and for the price paid (£90 for two people with breakfast and spa facilities included), you can’t find much better than that!

Hotel was lovely. Friendly staff,Good breakfast. Room was good apart from toilet was located in a tiny small area behind the door which was really odd but apart from that is was a fantastic stay would definitely go back.

Lovely last minute get away. The canal view room was spacious. Lovely hotel, the staff were super friendly and helpful. The pool and spa facilities were excellent. The food in the restaurant at night was delicious. Will definitely be going back.

Hotel is in perfect location to the city shops. Parking is good. Room was clean and tidy and bed was comfy. Sadly the breakfast let the hotel down big time. Cold food, cheap sausages, undercooked bacon, cold toast. Not a pleasant experience. Next time we won't eat.

The hotel itself was very clean and lovely. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The only problem we had was that the pillows were hard and uncomfortable, and the 1st night, was difficult to sleep, but the receptionist managed to get us some softer ones, which were a little bit better.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We love the swimming pool and the sauna, service is always great. The only thing that lets it down is the rooms are slightly dated and could do with a revamp.

disappointed with room, dirty, lots of damaged in bathroom plus small area for loo facilities. Plus due to not booking direct with hotel occurred an additional charge to park car at £12 Spa facilities is a pool and hot tub plus steam and sauna.

Lovely little place. Nice rooms. Good bar. And not too far from the centre- 10 min walk ish. Breakfast was ok but got there near the end and was low on stuff. But still nice.

Overnight stay to catch up with ex colleague and friend. Lovely clean and spacious room. Comfortable beds and fabulous spa facilities. All staff encountered were pleasant, helpful and polite. Breakfast was good, both hot and cold choices.

Nice hotel with excellent location (5minute walk into town) We had a business class room. Good size with nice bathroom and bed, could do with redecorating though. Breakfast was of a very good standard with loads to choose from. Pool area is quite small but sauna/steam room were nice. Parking is £12 per day.
