Friendly staff,  Spacious apartment and great location. Centrally located but on a quiet street. Would benefit from more kitchen utensils etc, as no oven gloves. But we managed ok with what was there. Kids loved the themed rooms

Had a really good night in Chester. Oddfellows was an amazing apartment, had everything you needed and the apartment was within walking distance of all the bars.

Checking in at the main Oddfellows hotel was smooth but it would have helped to have the exact address of the apartment in advance, so we could park more easily. There is one parking space at the apartment but it is a tight entrance! Apartment 5 was upstairs and very spacious. The lounge/kitchen/diner was well set up and the tea and coffee available was very welcome. Bedrooms and bathrooms were large, comfy and clean (but could do with a few hooks for towels or coats). There is even a laundry room. Decof is quirky and the location is great - just off the main streets. Fabulous place to stay.

This is definitely an amazingly quirky place to stay and not your normal hotel, in other words you will need to embrace this and not have the usual expectations of a 4 star hotel. The location is perfect for a city break, the room was quiet (we stayed in an attic room), lovely view out of the velux window, the bed was comfortable and the shower was great. Unfortunately the WiFi was very intermittent probably because of the building, however generally WiFi was not great across the whole of Chester itself. The TV did not work but will be replaced, obviously the previous guests had not flagged this up. There was a DAB radio which was great. There were a lot of steps up to the front of the hotel as this is a very old building and also not surprisingly up to the attic bedrooms. There were times that we had to ask for a few things but staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast is on a cook to order basis so don't expect a breakfast buffet. All in all we embraced the quirkiness, had some lovely conversations and enjoyed our stay. I would say however that this probably suits the young at heart and the younger generation, probably not for young families and you shouldn't be disappointed.
