蓋金酒店 (Numa Berlin Drift)

Very easy to find and check in, great room: lovely views, so clean, tea&coffee supplies, great shower, a/c, everything we needed. Comfortable bed, lighting was good and loads of space. Very close to the underground, easy to cycle to centre of city. Highly recommend.

The surroundings are so breathtaking you'll forget everything else... which might be exactly what they're hoping for! 😉 **Cleanliness: 🌟** Room roulette! My first room came with a shower straight from a horror movie - just two settings: "boiling hot" or "STRAIGHT FROM HELL'S KITCHEN!" 🔥🔥🔥 Had to switch to Room 2 where I was greeted by a previous guest's cigarette butt (free souvenir?) and some tiny roommates having their own little party (pest infestation included at no extra charge!). #RoommateSurprise **Service: 🌟🌟** "Complimentary late checkout" = being locked out for 30 minutes contemplating life choices in the hallway! 🚪 WhatsApp "customer care" moves slower than my grandma's internet! Had to explain basic faucet operation like I was teaching rocket science, and when locked out, had to share ALL my personal info AGAIN. Privacy who?? #WaitingGameChampion

Para hacer el checking es online y es un coñazo… a veces falla las taquillas y hay que esperar a que venga alguien… que pueden tardar unos 30min tranquilamente. No hay nadie en recepción… solo horas concretas de algunos días…. Eso si, el dormir allí muy tranquilo y muy bien ubicado porque tienes al lado la estación de metro y bus que enseguida te lleva al centro. Limpieza muy buena y siempre te dejan algún detalle para desayunar como cápsulas de café, bolsas de té, patatas, bebida fría en la nevera….

This place is not worth the hassle. A warning to all solo travellers that despite this place being in the middle of a nightlife area, the hotel may charge you if you bring back any partners after a night out, for “security” reasons. This policy is not mentioned anywhere when you book and seems to be inconsistently applied, but you will get warning emails harassing you about it during your stay (even if you don’t bring anyone back!) and threatening to cancel your booking without refund so you don’t feel safe staying here. Unresponsive management as they are remote. You are left to talk to a chatbot, with a customer service staff taking over an hour to respond afterwards. Note the amenities cupboard does not contain spare bin bags or ear plugs despite their claim, you will have to ask for these. Can’t really rate the cleanliness any higher, as although the place is clean at the start of your stay, they only will clean the place once a week. They give a BS excuse about being environmently friendly, yet at the same time you can change the towels and bedsheets from the amenity cupboard yourself an unlimited amount of times, and will happily charge you €30 if you want to request a room cleaning visit more frequently. Finally, this hotel doesn’t really cater to guests from warmer climates. Although the rooms have air conditioning, they can ONLY blow cold air outside of the winter season. There are no other heaters in the rooms. Having just visited in April when there were still low daytime temperatures of 12c and nighttime temperatures of around 4-6c outside, the place can become freezing. And no, there aren’t extra duvets in the laundry cupboard. Pros are the location right next to the subway station and the free day passes to Holmes Place (although annoyingly you need to reserve a timeslot around 2h in advance so you can’t just spontaneously visit the gym).
