This place is easily reachable by bus. The first impressions are great, check in staff is very nice and accompany you to your room. The room is nice. I like the hot and cold water dispenser. The food is a hit-and-miss, it’s definitely a lot but only the meat is noteworthy. My fish was completely burnt and the dinner service staff wasn’t great. Breakfast staff was asleep until I started shouting after five minutes of moving around the breakfast area.

If you are looking into staying at a traditional Japanese ryokan then this is the place to stay. You get fed like a king and you get to experience sleeping in the futon experience. This ryokan is super classic and the staff are incredibly helpful. It’s also right next to Beppu Tower and it’s only a 10mins walk to Beppu Station!
