北京郝家大院 (Haojia Farm House)

Comfortable and lovely stay with happy hosts. We love the real local feel of the place. From their courtyard you could see a tower of the Great Wall too. We arrived in town in the evening after walking down from the Great Wall. It was getting dark and we couldn't find the place. We didn't have internet access and couldn't make a call. We only had a rough map and picture of the place printed from 訂房網站 which was not quite enough after dark, ha ha. Fortunately we found someone who knew the place, so they phoned the place up for us. Soon the landlady came to meet us with a happy face. Their hospitality was genuine. Language was not a problem, translation app was more than sufficient. After checking in, my daughter wanted to go out to get something at the entrance of the village. It was late in the evening, the landlady was concerned so she offered to go out with her, how very kind! When we stayed, there were no other guests. We had a good sleep, warm shower with comfy and clean beds. We asked for breakfast. The price was reasonable at 15 CNY per person. The breakfast was simple but delicious and plenty; the host kept topping everything up until we couldn't eat anymore! There's a bus to the train station at 9 AM but we enjoyed the breakfast too much so it was doubtful if we'd get to the bus stop in times. The host was concerned we might miss the train and suggested we took a taxi and helped calling one for us. The price was very reasonable and of course the driver came with a happy face too! All in all it was a lovely experience. We'd stay here again.

We stayed with this lovely couple who took great care of us. They were truly kind, helped us get a taxi, and gave us advice on visiting the Great Wall of China. We were also able to have breakfast on site. The portions were really generous and very affordable. A big thank you to them for this wonderful experience and warm hospitality.

The homestay is situated a little further in the south part of Gubeikou. It is really quiet and it has nice little inner garden. The rooms are basic but for the price very reasonable. They do have rooms with arco. The family is very helpful and kind. We had no trouble with the communication.

De service van onze gastvrouw was geweldig. Ze hielp ons met alles en er werd ook veel gelachen omwille van de foutjes in de vertaalapps. Ze maakte daarenboven nog buns voor ons die heerlijk waren

Very kind owner helped me sort out my bus connections back to Beijing. The building has some history to it and the garden in the courtyard is quite beautiful. The rooms are fairly basic but they have charm. Can recommend!

We had an amazing stay, the hosts are helpful, friendly and kind hearted. The location is perfect and the accommodation itself is clean and comfortable. The food, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious!

Lovely friendly and helpful couple own this property. It's a rustic authentic stay in a small rural community. No English spoken but communicated through translation apps and they could not do enough for us. Breakfast was good and big portions. Overall a very good stay.
