Disappointing experience — poor room condition and service Unfortunately, my stay at Arion Hotel was a very disappointing experience. The room I was given was very dirty, and its location was extremely noisy. It was next to the cleaners’ staff room, so I could constantly hear staff conversations, trolley movement, and other noise right outside the door. There was also very poor sound insulation, making it easy to hear people talking in the hallway and passing by. I asked the hotel staff three times to change my room, but each time I was told that the hotel was fully booked. What made the situation worse was that the room was not cleaned for three days, despite me complaining to the staff several times. Eventually, they changed my room only on the night before I checked out, which was essentially useless at that point. Another major issue is that all the rooms are smoking rooms, and the smell of cigarette smoke is very strong. The room often smelled like an ashtray, which made the stay particularly unpleasant. The location is also not very convenient if your main purpose is to explore Baku. It is not close to the Old City or Nizami Street, so you need to take a taxi almost every time you want to go to the main tourist areas. Overall, I expected much better cleanliness, service, and room comfort. The staff had several opportunities to address the problems during my stay, but the solutions came too late. I would not recommend this hotel for travelers looking for a clean, quiet, and comfortable stay in Baku.
