Solea: A Construction Site, Not a Resort – Absolute Rip-off Staying at the Solea was a massive disappointment. For a brand-name hotel charging 6,000 PHP per night, the value for money is non-existent. It feels more like a construction zone than a resort. 1. Plumbing Issues: The toilet cistern was not secured to the wall/Toilett. 2. Loose Tiling: Tiles around the sink were not glued down, and the floor tiles in the bedroom make clicking noises when you walk on them. 3. Faulty Doors: The bathroom door is so poorly aligned that my girlfriend couldn't open it by herself. 4. Poor Craftsmanship: Drywall finishing is messy, not filled out well, and many spots haven't even been painted yet. 5. Constant Maintenance: Ongoing painting work in both interior and exterior areas. 6. Unsafe Safe: The room safe is unstable and not properly anchored. 7. Hazardous Pool: Tiles are peeling off the pool floor and just lying at the bottom—a real safety hazard. 8. Gym Disguised as a Build Site: The fitness room is under construction and filled with outdated, old (ancient) equipment. 9. Entrance Construction: They are currently building a new bungalow right at the main entrance. 10. Cheap Food & Drinks: All juices are processed. The welcome drink came from a plastic pouch, and breakfast juices were made from powder. 11. Subpar Breakfast: The "fluffy" pancakes were 2-3 mm thin and stale. The bacon was either ham or deep-fried until it reached a rubber-like consistency. 12. Towel Shortage: There are no pool towels available because they are sent to Panglao (120km away) for laundry. We were told to use our room towels but weren't given a replacement set. 13. Noise Pollution: Renovations were happening in the two rooms right next to us. Don't expect any peace during the day. 14. Rocky Beach: The beach is full of sharp stones; water shoes are a must. 15. Low-Quality Amenities: Every "glass" in the hotel is plastic, making it impossible to enjoy a proper drink. 16. The travel agency tried several times to contact the hotel, without any success. My personal verdict: 6,000 PHP per night for this level of neglect is a scam. It was quickly finished to produce money and milk us.

Overall experience is excellent. Got some cheaper food with excellent taste. Totally, worth it!

It’s the best for couples. The rooms are really clean, the beds are super comfortable and linens are soo good. They serve great breakfast, you can have nice coffee (which is not easy to find there), the pool is great, the sunsets are the best. The only disappointment I had is that check in should be at 15:00 but we only had the key at 16:00… 1 hour feels like it was stolen. We were really tired after the long way and I was disappointed I couldn’t get to the room on time. Especially considering the fact they ask you to check out at 11:00 instead of 12:00 like everywhere else. The snorkeling on their small beach was great, we saw turtles.

Beautiful resort with nice rooms, great view and tasty food only downside is beach is not that great considering it is Anda. Much better to go to a public beach than swim here. Also it takes 4 flights of stairs from the lobby/restaurant to the beach. Other than that, it was a good stay.

The scenic view was so amazing, the areas are clean and well maintained. The room is superb. The crews are helpful and kind.

Had a pleasant stay at this resort. The place was quiet and peaceful. The staff were one of the kindest and accommodating Ive experienced. The room was spacious with a breathtaking view of Bohol Sea and Camiguin Island. I think all of their rooms have sea view (correct me if Im wrong). Food was good and serving size is big yet their menu pricing has better value as compared to other upper range resorts we’ve stayed/dined. Will go back someday.

Mixed feelings here. What we expected to be a 4–5 star resort unfortunately fell short in several areas. The arrival experience was confusing, with what appeared to be the lobby not really feeling like a hotel lobby at all. It was an unusual first impression. The rooms are spacious and thoughtfully designed, but the lifting PVC flooring looks cheap and detracts from the overall quality. The pool area is excellent, although bar has such low clearance that anyone taller than about 5’7” is likely to hit their head when ordering drinks. Another odd design decision. The restaurant was very inconsistent. On multiple occasions, items on the menu weren’t available—there was no minced beef for Bolognese for three days, no seafood pasta because they had no mussels, and several meals arrived with missing or substituted ingredients without any notice. For example, breakfast came with mashed potato instead of the advertised hash brown. I ordered the same breakfast on two consecutive mornings, yet both were prepared differently each day. Half of the meal was served hot while the other half was cold, although I will say the food itself was still quite tasty. The hotel car park is shared with the general public because the beachfront appears to be publicly accessible. There are signs stating “Park at your own risk,” which is not something I would expect from a resort of this standard. The biggest concern, however, was that money was stolen from our room while we were at breakfast—the only time both of us were out of the room. This property has a lot of potential. The location, rooms, and pool provide a solid foundation, but management needs to improve the consistency of the guest experience, pay greater attention to detail, and address security concerns. With better management, this could become an excellent resort.
