n authentic Amami community stay! A beautiful village with narrow lanes, a pristine beach within walking distance, a cafe with a top-quality local arts and crafts display, lovely service, and a friendly community! The DenPaku hotels and guest houses blend so well into the village, respecting the local atmosphere, that you hardly feel like you're staying in a hotel. If you're looking for a top-end dining experience, the hotel can provide transport up the coast to their stunning restaurant, with views that alone justify the visit. You can rent an e-bike to visit the nearby beaches. It's very close to the airport and the more touristic part of the island—without the tourists—so serene! I was there for the fireworks festival, and that was a treat! If you want an authentic Amami Island experience, head to DenPaku in Akakina!
